You may remember that, towards the end of 2014, we decided our blogs should do more than simply reflect our views on business writing and marketing. We wanted them to have a bigger purpose. In short, we wanted them to do some good.
As a result, we dedicated all our blogs in 2015 to Nelson’s Journey and asked readers to give a pound or two for every blog they enjoyed. Over the year, we published 23 blogs and, with your help, hit our target of raising £99 to support bereaved children. Thank you to everyone who donated.
New Year, New Charity
For 2016, we’ve adopted another charity that also does an immense amount of good work for young people in our region. Ormiston Families works with children and families in the East of England to improve education and reduce social exclusion. It has been doing this for nearly 50 years, since the Murray family founded the charity following the tragic death of Fiona Ormiston Murray.
We have a particular soft spot for Ormiston Families, having taken part in two of their delicious ‘Walk With A Fork’ events at Senowe Park and Walsingham Abbey. Huw even went to ‘Jail’ for them in March 2015. But he managed to make ‘Bail’ thanks to the generosity of friends and clients.
Once again we have set up a JustGiving page to make donating as easy as possible – and we’ll post the donation button below on all our blogs. All you have to do is sign up for our free blog updates (see the box on our home page) and then, if you like a post, just give a £1 or £2 to the charity. If you prefer, you can simply text ORMI47 £2 to 70070 to spread a little happiness today.
With your help, we’ll hit our new target of £149.00.
Whatever you choose to do, we look forward to bringing you more of our engaging blogs over the next 12 months. If you like this idea, feel free to use it on your own blog – and please take a moment to share it with your social media network. After all, there is no reason why blogs can’t be interesting AND useful.
Thank you for reading,
Wendy and Huw
