1) New scholarships for STEM students at University of East Anglia

Ørsted has launched two Greener Future Scholarships as part of of its Hornsea Three Community Benefit Skills Fund. They are open to students living in Norfolk who also studied GCSEs or A-levels in the area. The scholarships will provide one undergraduate with £15,000 a year for three years and one post-graduate with £5,000 for one year. Application deadline 31 May 2024. 2) Manufacturing is still vital to the UK economy

New report from Oxford Economics and The Manufacturing Technologies Association shows that ‘Making things’ “accounts for 34.5% of all UK goods and services exports”. The sector’s median wage is also £31,300 – which is 11% higher than the national median wage. 3) Tackling false claims about  renewables

New report from Sabin Center for Climate Change Law at Columbia Law School challenges the 33 most pervasive false claims about solar energy, wind energy, and electric vehicles.” Read more here: 33 False Claims About Solar, Wind, and Electric Vehicles.

4) New funding for UK Screen Content Businesses

The UK Global Screen Fund for international business development is now open again for applications – deadline 28 June 2024. It offers funding between £50,000 and £200,000 in total over three-years. Independent content creation businesses working in film, TV, animation and interactive narrative video games can apply. 5) New Brand for Food Innovation Cluster

Launched on 16 April 2024, the Tastebuds Collective is the new brand and membership organisation for food and drink businesses in Norfolk and Suffolk. Find out more here: Tastebuds Collective.

6) Tech Nation ‘Rising Stars’ Regional Final
